Adriatic Figs
The Adriatic fig variety originated in Italy and comprises about 30% of the
total California dried fig crop. This variety does not require pollination (caprification).
Amber-colored and smaller in size than the Calimyrna, these figs have a rich
fig flavor that comes through in finished products.
Adriatic figs are used alone or in blends with other varieties primarily for
the production of fig paste and fruit nuggets.
